The Morning Preparation

The morning starts with an early rise in my mother’s home as per my Singaporean wedding tradition. My bridesmaids were here by 7am, all to help me set up the occasion while Jenny transform me to my beautiful self! After which is when we will wait for my husband to come retrieve me from my family.
Preparing to Claim the Bride

At the Groom’s quarters, for my wedding it was my Bridal Suite at Oasia Hotel Novena, is where my husband got ready with the help with all his ushers to prep him to retrieve his bride.
Gate Crash!
By 9am, my husband reached my mother’s home ready to make me his wife! As tradition he has prepared 2 oranges to give to a nephew from my family, as my nephew escorts him to my mothers home. In the past, parents usually can’t bear to part with their daughters, which meant the groom had to perform certain task to prove him worthy. This was certainly a treat for my bridesmaids!
Retrieving his Bride and Outdoor Photoshoot

Alas, Stuart has claimed his bride, and it is time to celebrate! We went to of the most beautiful Parks in Singapore, Bishan Park.

Tea Ceremony

After the photoshoot, we return with our elders gathered at home, and ready to pay respects to them with a simple tea ceremony as Husband and Wife.
Setting Up for Solemnisation
By Evening time, we made our way to Alkaff Mansion, a Arabian Colonial Property just located at Mount Faber. It was beautiful, there isn’t another wedding venue in Singapore that could offer such a breath taking experience. Stuart and I were looking for something British and Singaporean, and the millions of over decorated ballrooms simply didn’t make the mark! Fortunately for us, this was the last year Alkaff Mansion would be open to the public.
We Got Married!

By 6pm, I was finally a Mrs Gibson! Kinda weird saying that, but OMG! As My father wasn’t mobile at this point, I got my brother to walk me down the aisle in his place. Becoming Stuart’s Wife is the most magical experience I ever had in my life. I am so proud to call Stuart my Husband. He is one in a million 🙂
The After Party

With my sister as the Emcee (she did a great job btw, she should consider this as a side job), She announced the after party, and boy, was it a party! Stuart and I Marched in with the theme song of Mission Impossible (his choice), and the rest was history!
